Using HEART, MIND, and SOUL to BEAT TOWNSHIP!

On behalf of the entire coaching staff,

 I would like to congratulate the JV on our biggest win of the season over Manheim Township.

What would prove to be not only our best competition, but our best game of the season, was truly something to see. Although we started out rocky, early goals from Matt Senft kept us in it. Middies Connor Lehr Joey Gamble and Andrew Wardrop made major contributions by each tallying 3 ground balls. Face off Specialist Evan Ruben dominated, winning over 70% of all his face offs and limiting MT's great fast break unit. Defensively, Seth Fackler played great position defense and threw many outstanding, under control, take away checks. Goalie Nick Mcminn stood on his head, making 8 brilliant saves to keep us alive against great shooters. In the end, it was Andrew Roda who netted the final score in the second period of overtime to secure the Win.

Overall, it was a great win and it demonstrates that when things get rough, you can always count on your teammates. We played a very unselfish game and this is what proved to be the difference. Unlike township, who got frustrated when we shut down their best shooters, we played team ball. This meant moving the ball as well as our feet to and away from passing. By working Together, we all accomplish more.

Again, congratulations Hempfield on your biggest and best performance of the season!

This is done primarily for one reason.

GAME PREPERATION/REFLECTION- we win together, we lose together. It is absolutely essential that each member of the team, no matter the outcome, stay together before and after games. This also gives us time to prepare/reflect on our game, together.
